The 1999 Stockport Art gallery Exhibition (or art thingy to give the proper title) gave chris the opportunity showcase his artwork produced throughout his career from the early 1970s through to late 1990s. The idea for an exhibition came about when Frank visited the gallery in 1997 as a feature for the TV programme Men & motors. The video of this can be seen in the Frank section.
The extensive exhibition featured his work from Oink! comic, stage props, tour t-shirts, posters, record sleeves, plus many more interesting pieces. One wall was covered with pages from an animation called “idiot boy meets mr. spaceman”This on off project between 1970 and 1974 resulted in a three minute film which so far has not been shown.
There is personal artwork including a portrait of his mother in her wren uniform coloured in an Andy Warhol style.
Amongst the memorabilia inside the shed there is a dummy dressed in the Timperley Bigshorts strip complete with an early copy head made by Dave Arnold
For the exhibition four new pieces were created based on old masters The Oh blimey, the hey wayne, some flowers, and a fourth mystery painting that I cannot find the title or what it is referencing
